This is hands down the best album of 2010. The newest Deftones album is second but doesn’t come remotely close to how good this is. The albums kills.

I’ve been trying to start a band up similar to The Sword for a long time but not many people seem to be inclined to the style of music they play. I have no idea why because they are awesome. It’s not the most technical music ever but the grooves in their songs are killer! These guys should be massive but everyones too busy wanking off to generic metalcore these days. I don’t dislike metalcore but apart from a few bands such as August Burns Red and BMTH who are trying to push the boundaries - the entire scene is stale and boring.

It bugs me that stock bands with generic breakdowns and mindless fretwanking are overshadowing so many great bands out there. Lars Ulrich needs to keep spouting off about The Sword so they achieve the success they truly deserve.
